ROBOCOP Writer to Pen Script for Channing Tatum’s GAMBIT Movie

Word started to surface
a few months ago that an X-Men spinoff
featuring the card-wielding mutant was in the
works with Channing Tatum set to star, and now
Fox has hired screenwriter Josh Zetumer to get to
work on a script while Tatum is indeed officially
attached to lead the feature. This isn’t the first
movement on the project, however, as Marvel
Comics writer Chris Claremont apparently wrote
the treatment for the Gambit movie, which will
form the basis of the screenplay.

Some new posters have landed online. Briefly:

in the poster Michael Mann ‘s upcoming film
about cyberterrorism. The movie opens January
16, 2015 also stars Viola Davis , Tang Wei , and
Wang Leehom .

the creepy John du Pont in Bennett Miller ‘s

robot-neck in the U.K. poster for Alex Garland‘s

Gleeson .

Look at TERMINATOR: GENYSIS Provides Images of the Characters Plus Plot Details; Sarah Connor “Orphaned by a Terminator”

The Terminator franchise has now been going for
thirty years, and it’s going to need a reboot of
sorts if it plans to stay alive. Personally, I’d be
fine letting lay fallow or never coming back to it
again since every sequel diminishes the ending of
T2 (“We might have saved the world!”; “Nope. No
you didn’t. In no way what so ever.”) But as the
cover of EW proclaims, Terminator: Genisys
(spelling is for nerds) is trying to “save a billion-
dollar franchise.” And how do you go about
that? With a character description that will have
you scratching your head. check out the Terminator: Genisys images
from EW, which provide a first look at the
characters. The film opens July 1, 2015 and
stars Emilia Clarke(Kalisi of game of thrones) , Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke ,
Matt Smith , J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and
Byung Hun Lee .
We know that Terminator: Genisys isn’t going to
be a sequel or a reboot, and according to
Courtney, it’s a “reset” for the franchise. The
movie takes place in 2029, but also has Kyle
Reese (Courtney) going to 1984.

Tuesday TV Ratings: THE FLASH Dips While AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Ticks Up TV ratings for Tuesday, October 28th are in.

Here’s a brief rundown:
The CW’s The Flash fell
13% from last week to a 1.3 rating in the 18-49
demo, scoring 3.37 million viewers. Supernatural
was also down, dropping 11% to a 0.8 rating and
scoring 2.01 million viewers.
ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  enjoyed a slight ratings uptick from the
promise of the first Avengers: Age of Ultron clip,
though we’ll never really know how big of a bump
the trailer debut might have given the Marvel
series. Last night’s episode rose 6% to a 1.7
rating and scored 4.46 million viewers. Elsewhere
on the network, Forever tied its series low with a
1.1 rating and 4.95 million viewers for a drop of
8%.
NBC’s fantastic new comedy Marry Me was down
13% from last week to a 1.6 rating and scored
5.60 million viewers, while About a Boy fell 14%
to a 1.2 rating and 4.41 million viewers and
Chicago Fire was down 11% to a 1.7 rating and
scored 7.22 million viewers.
Over on CBS, NCIS was up 4% to a 2.5 rating and
17.2 million viewers, NCIS: New Orleans was
down 4% to a 2.3 rating and 15.74 million
viewers, and Person of Interest ticked up 7% to a
1.6 rating and 9.7 million viewers.

Jennifer Lawrence Takes Extreme Measures in New SERENA Trailer

Magnolia Pictures has released the official US
trailer for director Suzanne Bier ’s drama Serena .
The film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley
Cooper , which seems like a slam dunk except for
the fact that the film was shot before Silver
Linings Playbook and has been sitting on the
shelf ever since. Apparently it’s just not that
great as distributors refused to acquire the film
for quite some time, but this trailer certainly
makes the movie look at least interesting in a go-
for-broke kind of way. Lawrence and Cooper play
1920s newlyweds who begin to build a timber
empire, but their passion becomes hindered as a
hidden past is discovered and Lawrence’s
character decides to take fate into her own
hands.

Daniel H. Wilson Offers Update on ROBOPOCALYPSE

Nearly two years ago, Steven Spielberg was
putting together the pieces for his next film,
Robopocalypse. The adaptation of the Daniel H.
Wilson sci-fi novel of the same name was to
return the director to a large-scale tentpole-type
picture, telling the story of a future where an
artificial intelligence comes online and threatens
a, well, robot apocalypse. Chris Hemsworth was
set as the lead, Anne Hathaway and Ben
Whishaw were poised to co-star, Drew Goddard
was writing the screenplay, and filming was set
to begin in Spring 2013 until suddenly it all came
to a halt. Spielberg decided to postpone the film
indefinitely after coming up with “a better way to
tell the story” that would necessitate heavy
reworking of the screenplay.
The filmmaker went on to flirt with American
Sniper before committing to shooting two new
films back-to-back (he’s filming the first one right
now), so whatever happened to Robopocalypse ?
Wilson recently offered a bit of an update on the
project, saying it remains “in the queue”.

March 20, 2015. The film also stars Naomi
Watts, Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Octavia
Spencer , Jai Courtney and Daniel Dae Kim .
Shailene Woodley as Tris.

CBS Renews All 4 of Its New Dramas: NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, Madam Secretary, and Stalker

While most networks stumble to find at least one
new show that can survive in the ratings, CBS
has picked up all four of its new drama series:
NCIS: New Orleans , Scorpion , Madam Secretary,
and Stalker. For CBS, this news isn’t all that
surprising. The network’s formula for the least-
offensive programming possible is perfectly suited
to an older generation that still holds to Nielsen
boxes even though the way we watch television
has changed drastically. That’s not to say these
shows are bad (I haven’t watched them), but I
can’t think of a single CBS drama other than The
Good Wife that gets people talking and has fans
encouraging others to watch.

Two-Part AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Announced for May 2018 and May 2019

Thanos. Is. Coming. During Marvel’s massive
news dump for its fan event today, the studio
announced that Avengers 3 will be two-part
team-up story arc that will rival Warner Bros.’
two-part Justice League adaptation . Avengers:
Infinity War Part I arrives in theaters May 4, 2018,
while Avengers: Infinity War Part II opens on May
3, 2019. Ever since the big purple alien Thanos
showed up at the end of The Avengers , fans have
been wondering when he’d finally wreak havoc on
the team of superheroes. Most assumed he’d
pop up in The Avengers 2, until Marvel opted to
use Ultron as that film’s villain. Josh Brolin filled
the role of Thanos in what was essentially a
cameo role in Guardians of the Galaxy , but even
then he really didn’t have much to do.
Nevertheless, patience is a virtue, as we now
have an arrival date for when this very, very bad
guy will cause trouble for the Avengers team, and
it’s gonna take two whole movies for him to be
vanquished.

THOR: RAGNAROK Set for Release on July 28, 2017; Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston Returning

Marvel Studios made some big announcements
today during its fan event, one of which is the
confirmation of the Thor 3 title and release date.
The studio announced that Thor: Ragnarok will
open in theaters on July 28, 2017, with Chris
Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston confirmed to
reprise their roles as the God of Thunder and his
tricky brother Loki, respectively. Moreover, in
introducing the film, Marvel Studios president
Kevin Feige said it’s the key movie in the studio’s
Phase Three, as it takes place directly after the
events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. So what is a
“Rangarok”, you might ask?
In the Marvel Comics, the name “Ragnarok”
references a character who is a cyborg clone of
Thor. Yep, clones are coming to the MCU. The
key piece of info that might tell us why this is the
storyline that picks up after the end of Avengers:
Age of Ultron is the origin of Ragnarok. In the
comics, the real Thor goes missing in action and
is presumed dead. Tony Stark subsequently uses
one of Thor’s hairs (that he just happens to
have) and, with the help of Ant Man Hank Pym,
is able to clone Thor’s DNA and fuse it with Stark
technology.
We’ve heard that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be a
game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe
in the way that Captain America: The Winter
Soldier was, and Feige recently confirmed that
the roster of the Avengers will change after
Ultron. So, with Ragnarok being the subtitle of
Thor 3, might we assume that Hemsworth’s
character faces grave danger in Age of Ultron,
turning up missing or quite possibly dead by the
end of the film? Obviously we don’t know, but it
doesn’t seem like a massive stretch of the
imagination, especially since Ultron will see Stark
pushing his technology to the limit in terms of
creating an evil robot.
In the comics, Stark uses this clone Thor to fight
for him during the Civil War storyline, which finds
Stark and Steve Rogers on opposing sides of a
battle over the registration and oversight of
superheroes. Civil War just so happens to be the
subtitle of Captain America 3, which will co-star
Robert Downey Jr. , so it’s all connected, you
see. It’s unclear how Hiddleston will fit into the
story since last we saw Loki he was presumed
dead and taking on the form of his father, whom
he likely killed, but the actor is one of the best
parts of the MCU so I’m not complaining about
his return.
A director has yet to be announced for Thor:
Ragnarok , but with the release date set I imagine
we should hear word on that front sometime early
next year. Currently, the film has the July 28th
weekend all to itself, but Fox’s The Fantastic
Four 2 is scheduled to open a week earlier. If
that film comes to fruition, I imagine a release
date shift is in the cards.
The Thor movies have been the weakest part of
the MCU thus far, so here’s hoping the Ragnarok
storyline gets the creative juices flowing and
makes for an exciting film. Hemworth’s a really
talented actor when he has the right material
(he’s incredible in Rush ), so I’d love for him to
get a chance to really shine with this
third Thor movie. What do you think about this
news, readers? For those of you familiar with
Ragnarok, is this an exciting storyline for a third
Thor movie? Where would you like to see the
character go? Sound off in the comments below.
[Update: As many have pointed out in the
comments, apparently there are two stories
involving the word Ragnarok in the Thor Marvel
comics. The other refers to an event that marks
the end of days for all of Asgard. Marvel's
official Wiki for the word is in reference to the
clone, but the press release for the film mentions
the "Norse End of Days" without going into
further detail.]

Marvel Reveals Phase 3 Release Dates: BLACK PANTHER in 2017; CAPTAIN MARVEL in 2018; AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR in 2018 and 2019

It’s been just two weeks since Warner Bros.
unveiled its DC Movie lineup , but Marvel is
already stealing back the spotlight with an
enormous slate of its own. Here’s the overview
of Phase 3:
Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on
May 6, 2016.
Doctor Strange will arrive on November 4, 2016.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is due on May 5, 2017.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on July 28, 2017.
Black Panther arrives on November 3, 2017
starring Chadwick Boseman.
Captain Marvel will be released on July 6, 2018.
Inhumans is coming on November 2, 2018.
Avengers: Infinity War - Part I arrives on May 4,
2018 followed by Part II on May 3, 2019.
All movies will be released in 3D.
Warner Bros. and DC have a solid lineup, but
Marvel might have just one-upped them with a
slate loaded with proven and beloved properties
as well as some new characters fans have been
hoping to see on the big screen.
First on the list is the third installment of the
Captain America series, now officially
titled Captain America: Civil War, confirming
recent reports that directors Joe and Anthony
Russo will be running with the “Civil War”
storyline in the new film. After that we’ll get to
see what Benedict Cumberbatch can bring to the
MCU in Doctor Strange . Director Scott
Derrickson will have a film that will presumably
“open up a whole new world for the cinematic
universe” ready for us on November 4, 2016.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will follow that one up
on May 5, 2017 after which the third Thor
film, Thor: Ragnarok , will make its way into
theaters on July 28, 2017. According to
Ragnarok’s Marvel.com description , Tony Stark
used a sample of Thor’s hair to create a clone –
Ragnarok. That clone then fights alongside those
who are pro-Superhuman Registration Act.
After that, Marvel announced the Black Panther
movie for November 3, 2017. On top of that, it
was also revealed that Get On Up ‘s Chadwick
Boseman will be our T’Challa. After that, the
studio confirmed another rumor that’s been
circulating for quite a while now; we’re getting a
Carol Danvers Captain Marvel movie on July 6,
2018. Apparently, “This is the time to bring out
Captain Marvel.”
We told you that Marvel was making plans for
an Inhumans movie back in August and now it’s
confirmed; Inhumans (not The Inhumans) will
arrive on November 2, 2018.
As if all of that isn’t enough, Marvel decided to
wrap up the presentation by dropping this
glorious bomb; we’re not getting Avengers 3, but
rather Avengers: Infinity War – Part I
and Avengers: Infinity War – Part II on May 4,
2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively.

The Justice League/DC comics Movie calendar

Warner Bros. has just revealed essentially its
entire slate of upcoming DC Movie release dates,
also confirming a ton of other news in the
process. Here’s a brief overview:
Suicide Squad will be the first DC movie after
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, opening in
2016 and confirmed to be directed by Fury
helmer David Ayer.
Wonder Woman will be released in 2017.
The Flash starring Ezra Miller ( The Perks of Being
a Wallflower ) and Aquaman starring Jason
Momoa will be released in 2018.
Shazam starring Dwayne Johnson(The Rock) will be released
in 2019.
Zack Snyder will direct Justice League Part One
for release in 2017 and Justice League Part Two
for release in 2019.
Cyborg and Green Lantern will be released in
2020.
The battle between Marvel Studios and Warner
Bros./DC has been brewing for some time, but
WB took a page out of Marvel’s playbook a
couple of months ago when it announced DC
movie release dates for nine untitled films .
Marvel likes to stake out release dates way in
advance and wait a while until unveiling exactly
what those movies are, but today WB essentially
laid all of its cards on the table by saying exactly
what each of these DC movies will be.
First up will be Suicide Squad, which will be the
first DC movie to be released after Zack Snyder ’s
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, taking the
August 5, 2016 slot. This is actually a pretty
smart play. Dawn of Justice is a massive event
movie, so Warner Bros. intends to switch things
up by following that with a lesser known title.
Fury director David Ayer had been rumored to be
helming the Suicide Squad movie—which follows
a group of supervillains—and Warner Bros.’ press
release today confirms that he will indeed be
directing the comics adaptation. A highly exciting
choice.
After Suicide Squad we get Wonder Woman on
June 23, 2017, which is shaping up to be the very
first female-led superhero movie of the modern
era. Gal Gadot has already been cast as the
character with her first appearance poised to be
in Batman v Superman , and it’s strange to think
that even though Marvel has already had an 11-
film head start on DC, the latter will be the first
out of the gate with a female superhero movie.
Justice League Part One will be released on
November 17, 2017 with Zack Snyder returning to
direct and Henry Cavill , Ben Affleck, and Amy
Adams reprising their roles as Superman, Batman,
and Lois Lane respectively. Moreover, Snyder will
also direct Justice League Part Two for release
on June 14, 2019.
2018 will give us two brand new superheroes, as
Ezra Miller will lead The Flash for release on
March 23, 2018 and Jason Momoa will lead
Aquaman for release on July 27, 2018. Momoa is
already confirmed to appear as his character in
Batman v Superman , and I would not be
surprised if Miller is introduced briefly as The
Flash in that film as well. This casting news can
also further put to rest any speculation that the
DC television universe and the DC movie universe
might be connected, as The CW’s The Flash will
continue to be its own thing.
Dwayne Johnson will make his superhero debut in
Shazam, opening on April 5, 2019, and as
previously reported Johnson will be playing the
villainous Black Adam in the comics adaptation.
Then in 2020, we will get another double dose of
new superhero movies as Cyborg opens on April
3, 2020 and a Green Lantern reboot opens on
June 19, 2020. Ray Fisher has already been cast
as Cyborg to appear in Batman v Superman , but
the new star of Green Lantern has yet to be
announced.
Phew, that’s some pretty massive news huh
folks? Marvel Studios is definitely going big with
a Civil War storyline for its next phase, but DC
has some tricks up its sleeve as well. I, for one,
am excited to see Warner Bros. build out its own
superhero universe, and this slate of films is
certainly a promising start. We’ll start to get a
very good idea of what this DC Movie Universe
will look like when we see Batman v Superman:
Dawn of Justice hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
Sound off with your thoughts on this flood of
news below!
One more time, here’s what your upcoming DC
movie slate looks like:
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – March
25, 2016
Suicide Squad – August 5, 2016
Wonder Woman – June 23, 2017
Justice League Part One – November 17, 2017
The Flash – March 23, 2018
Aquaman – July 27, 2018
Shazam – April 5, 2019
Justice League Part Two – June 14, 2019
Cyborg – April 3, 2020
Green Lantern – June 19, 2020

HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1 Empire Covers: Jennifer Lawrence is Ready for the Rebellion

You thought fighting for your life in the Hunger
Games was bad? In The Hunger Games:
Mockingjay – Part 1, Katniss ( Jennifer Lawrence)
has to keep herself and her loved ones alive in
the midst of a civil war. No more Capitol issued
arena uniforms this time around. Katniss will be
rocking body armor and a brand new bow in the
franchise’s third installment and you can see it all
on the cover of the December issue of Empire
Magazine.
The new edition doesn’t hit stores until Thursday,
October 30th, but Empire just unveiled two
versions of the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
Part 1 cover.
Mockingjay – Part 1 arrives in theaters on
November 21st and also stars Liam
Hemsworth , Woody Harrelson , Julianne
Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman , Elizabeth
Banks, Sam Claflin , Jena Malone and Donald
Sutherland.

Another Bible story Movie to be released soon!

Hollywood has grown interested in Biblical stories in recent years and why shouldn't they?
The holy Bible is home to many great stories and the story of Moses and the Pharoah of Egypt is certainly one to interest a lot of people.
Come December 5th, Christian Bale’s Moses and
Joel Edgerton ’ Ramses will go head-to-head in
Ridley Scott ’s Exodus: Gods and Kings , and these
latest posters for the film really play up the
conflicting tactics of the two. Even though they
grew up together, almost like brothers, Ramses is
the one who’s born to rule Egypt whereas Moses
is destined to lead 600,000 slaves out of the
region.
Similar to just about every single promo we’ve
seen from the film thus far, including the first set
of posters , the visuals here are bold and striking,
but we’ve still got a little over a month to go until
we find out if the heavy eyeliner and flashy armor
translate into a worthy retelling of the story –
although I am very hopeful Scott pulled it off.
The film also stars Ben
Kingsley , Aaron Paul , John Turturro
and Sigourney Weaver.

Official FURIOUS 7 Poster Teases Vengeance

Yesterday, Universal Pictures began the
marketing campaign for the upcoming seventh
Fast & Furious film by unveiling the official title—
Furious 7—and a new banner, in addition to
announcing that the official trailer will arrive this
coming Saturday. In keeping with the buildup to
the trailer debut, Universal today released the
first theatrical Furious 7 poster, which also
reveals the film’s tagline: “Vengeance Hits
Home.” It’s a fairly standard teaser poster as the
Furious 7 cast is obscured in the background, but
I am very curious to see how director James Wan
handles his first action film. The production no
doubt had its hurdles, but hopefully Wan and Co.
were able to turn out a solid finished feature.
The film stars Vin Diesel , Paul Walker, Dwayne
Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez , Jordana Brewster ,
Tyrese Gibson , Chris “Ludacris” Bridges , Elsa
Pataky , Lucas Black, Jason Statham , Djimon
Hounsou , Tony Jaa , Ronda Rousey , and Kurt
Russell . Furious 7 opens in theaters on April 3,
2015.

Apparently there is a Batman gallery in Texas

The doors just opened at the Mondo Gallery in
Austin, Texas for the 75 Years of Batman Gallery
Show. A full show, officially licensed, celebrating
all things revolving around the Caped Crusader. But now that the doors
are open we can reveal the rest. They’re
beautiful.
Better than that, no matter what Batman is your
favorite, it’s represented. There’s 1966 Batman ,
Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, The Dark
Knight Returns , Batman Beyond, Gotham by
Gaslight, Year One , and of course plenty of your
favorite villains. Below, check out some of  the posters
from the Mondo Batman 75 show.

Don’t Expect Christopher Nolan to Be Involved in Future DC Movies

It was Christopher Nolan ‘s Batman Begins that
set a new course for the DC film franchise
following Joel Schumacher’s disastrous Batman
and Robin. He stuck with the franchise through
two more movies and helped kick off the new,
cohesive DC Universe with Man of Steel , and is
now helping to usher in a new Bat-era as an
executive producer on Batman v Superman: Dawn
of Justice.
But beyond that, the DC movies will have to move
forward without his assistance. Nolan’s brother,
The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises
screenwriter Jonathan Nolan , says they’re done
with DC movies — at least for now.

Thursday TV Ratings: SCANDAL and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER Rise; PARENTHOOD Dips

TV ratings for Thursday, October 23rd are in.
Here’s a brief rundown:
ABC’s “TGIT” lineup was all up versus last week.
Grey’s Anatomy rose a tenth to a 2.5 rating in the
18-49 demo and scored 8.6 million viewers,
Scandal also ticked up a tenth to a 3.0 rating and
scored 10 million viewers, and How to Get Away with Murder rose two
tenths to a 3.0 rating in the demo and garnered
9.87 million viewers.
Over on NBC, Bad Judge was down two tenths to
a 1.0 rating and notched 4.33 million viewers, A
to Z dipped two tenths to a 0.9 rating and scored
3.22 million viewers, and Parenthood was down a
tenth from last week to a 1.2 rating and 4.09
million viewers.
Fox’s limited series Gracepoint continues to do
quite poorly, but last night’s episode was at least
steady with last week’s 0.8 rating and scored
3.49 million viewers.
The CW’s The Vampire Diaries dipped a tenth to a
0.8 rating and scored 1.65 million viewers, and
Reign was up a tenth to a 0.5 rating and garnered
1.35 million viewers.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES Ending Features a 45-Minute Battle Sequence; Billy Boyd to Write and Perform End Credits Song

With a title like The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five
Armies , there are pretty high expectations for a
rather epic-looking battle sequence. Indeed, Peter
Jackson has revealed that the film concludes
with a 45-minute fight during the climax, as the
various armies of Middle-earth all descend upon
the Lonely Mountain now that the dwarven
treasure of Erebor is no longer being guarded by
that fearsome dragon Smaug. Jackson is
currently putting the finishing touches on the film
during post-production in anticipation of its
December 17th release, but he recently talked a
bit about planning the final battle sequence with
EW and also unveiled some rather massive-
looking concept art. Additionally, Warner Bros.
has announced that Lord of the Rings actor Billy
Boyd (aka Peregrin Took) will perform the closing
credits song “The Last Goodbye”, which he co-
wrote with the filmmakers.

ZERO DARK THIRTY Cinematographer Greig Fraser Will Shoot Gareth Edwards’ STAR WARS Movie

While Lucasfilm and Disney have been incredibly
tight-lipped with regards to director J.J. Abrams ’
upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, the studios
have unveiled essentially nothing about the other
Star Wars films in the works. We know that
starting next year, there are plans to release a
new Star Wars movie every year, and we also
know that the first film after Episode VII will be a
“standalone” Star Wars feature directed by
Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards. After that we
have Rian Johnson ’s Star Wars: Episode VIII and
then Josh Trank’s “standalone” feature, so the
studios certainly have a pretty deep bench and no
doubt have a master plan of sorts.
With Edwards on deck, he’s started to put
together his crew in anticipation of starting
production on his secretive Star Wars project in
London next year, and the first major addition is a
rather exciting one: cinematographer Greig
Fraser.
