THE IMITATION GAME Review

In September 1933, General George S. Patton told
the Calvary Journal , “Wars may be fought with
weapons, but they are won by men.”
Mathematician Alan Turning proved Patton’s
statement was only half true when it came to
World War II. It was won by men and a machine.
Turing and his team used a computer to
decipher the Germans’ “Enigma” code, which
turned the tide of the war and was one of the key
contributions to the Allies’ victory. Morten
Tyldum ’s The Imitation Game is a compelling
look at a man treated inhumanely and the
creation of his machine that helped saved
humanity from evil. The film isn’t hard to crack,
but led by Benedict Cumberbatch ’s outstanding
performance and Tyldum’s strong direction, it’s a
compelling tale of secrets, lies, and sacrifice.
In 1951, there’s been a break-in at Alan Turing’s
(Cumberbatch) home, but nothing has been
stolen, so Inspector Nock ( Rory Kinnear ) starts
digging to find out why. We then cut back to
1939 and learn about Turing joining the military
so he can solve the toughest puzzle in the world,
Enigma, which encrypts Germany’s
communications. Brilliant but arrogant, Turing
believes the only way to break the code is to
build a machine, and he reluctantly works with
cryptologists Hugh Alexander ( Matthew Goode),
John Cairncross ( Allen Leech ), and Peter Hilton
( Matthew Beard ) to accomplish their mission.
However, Turing does take a liking to Joan Clarke
( Keira Knightley ), a brilliant woman who’s
underestimated by others because of her gender.
In between the plotlines in 1951 and 1939, we
also occasionally turn back to 1928 where we see
a teenage Turing fall for one of his male
classmates.
One of the best aspects of The Imitation Game is
how it makes Turing’s homosexuality a key part
of his story, but not the only part of his identity.
He had to remain closeted in order to continue
his work , but we’re not constantly being
reminded of his sexuality as if it were an
obstacle. He is not solely defined by his sexual
orientation. It is part of a fully formed character
who has other interests, goals, traits, and quite a
few shortcomings when it comes to social
interactions.
Early in the film, it feels like we’re about to get a
variation of Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes. But
Cumberbatch’s Alan Turing is Holmes if he were
a real person instead of someone who, for all
intents and purposes, is a superhero. Holmes is a
very entertaining character, but for Turing,
there has to be a serious, emotional underpinning.
The reason he rejects others needs to be more
interesting than simply being the smartest person
in the room. He must develop real relationships,
not just for historical accuracy, but because it
would be somewhat uninteresting if he built the
machine singlehandedly. And that’s not to
mention paying honor to the memory of Turing by
remembering that if you want to show someone
as a great person, you must first depict him or
her as a real person.
Watching Cumberbatch’s career explode over
the past several years, I’ve felt that when it
comes to his performances outside of Sherlock,
he had a great one in him, but we hadn’t seen it
yet. He was still good in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy ,
The Fifth Estate, August: Osage County , and 12
Years a Slave, but it seemed like he could do
more. In The Imitation Game, Cumberbatch finally
delivers on that promise. He could have coasted
on doing Sherlock Holmes under a different
character name, but he finds the layers in Turing.
He embraces the vulnerability beneath the ego
and the intellect. Turing isn’t a god or a saint.
He’s a man, and one who’s uncertain of his own
humanity.
There isn’t much depth to The Imitation Game;
it’s a well-executed, populist drama where
characters occasionally talk in taglines. It’s a
movie your parents will enjoy if they’re casual
filmgoers. I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a
frontrunner in the Oscar race. But it does have
some subtext when it comes to Turing wrestling
with his computational mind and desire for
human connection. The title, “The Imitation
Game”, comes from Turing’s paper about whether
it’s possible for a human to discern “a machine’s
ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to,
or indistinguishable from, that of a human.”
The question of what it means to be human
certainly isn’t a light one, but it’s also not the
focus of the movie. At its core, The Imitation
Game is an exciting war drama with plenty of
twists and turns, a terrific lead performance, and
strong supporting work from the rest of the cast.
It’s also an earnest tribute to a man who
changed the course of history with his machine.
Rating: B+

Jake Gyllenhaal Is Ripped in First SOUTHPAW Image from Antoine Fuqua’s Boxing Drama

The Weinstein Company has unveiled the very
first Southpaw image from director Antoine
Fuqua ’s long-in-the-works boxing drama, and it
reveals a rather transformed Jake Gyllenhaal .
The film has been in development for years, with
Eminem previously attached to star. Written by
Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter, the story
revolves around a left-handed boxer who wins a
title but suffers various tragedies in his personal
life, all while trying to win back the love of his
daughter. Gyllenhaal gained 15 pounds of muscle
for the role, and judging by this first image it’s a
far cry from his gaunt physique in Nightcrawler .
Check out the first Southpaw image after the
jump. The film also stars Rachel McAdams,
Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris , Victor Ortiz , and
50 Cent . Southpaw will be released in theaters
sometime in 2015.

Friday Box Office: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 Soars Over New Thanksgiving Releases

The 2014 Thanksgiving box office won’t set any
new records, but the complete domination of
Mockingjay – Part 1 will at least prove that
there’s a lot of life left in The Hunger Games
franchise. After opening more than 20% below
Catching Fire last weekend, the penultimate
chapter in the saga of Katniss Everdeen had no
trouble staying ahead of Thanksgiving’s new
releases: The Penguins of Madagascar and
Horrible Bosses 2. Both opened on Wednesday,
though the two films combined didn’t come close
to Mockingjay – Part 1’s $49.7 million estimate
for the first three days of the long holiday
frame. As expected, Katniss cleaned up on Black
Friday with an estimated $24.1 million, or a drop
of 56% from the film’s opening one week ago.
Mockingjay – Part 1 should ring up another $80
million between Wednesday and Sunday, topping
the five-day Thanksgiving hauls of both Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1and The
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 .
Mockingjay will still trail Catching Fire (not to
mention Frozen ) in terms of all-time Thanksgiving
records, though it still has a chance to claim the
third-highest holiday ever, ahead of Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
This year’s new releases got off to a slow start.
The Penguins of Madagascar, a spin-off from
DreamWorks Animation’s wildly successful
Madagascar franchise, opened with an estimated
$6.2 million on Wednesday and $3.9 million on
Thanksgiving day. After claiming a reported
$10.5 million yesterday, Penguins is expected to
remain in second place this weekend with just
over $26 million, or $36 million for the five-day
frame.
Thanksgiving is not known for hosting many R-
rated comedies, but Warner Bros. is bravely
bucking that trend with Horrible Bosses 2 this
year. Back in the summer of 2011, Horrible
Bosses was a sleeper hit: opening to $28.3
million on its way to a $117 million domestic
total. The sequel took in just $7.3 million for
Wednesday and Thursday combined, and came in
below holdovers Big Hero 6 and Interstellar on
day one of the three-day holiday weekend. On
this notoriously family-friendly frame, the
comedy is expected to bring in less than $24
million for its first five days.
We’ll have complete box office details tomorrow,
including the expansion of The Theory of
Everything and the platform debut of The
Imitation Game.
Title Friday Total
1. Mockingjay – Part 1 $24,100,000 $192.7
2. Penguins of Madagascar $10,500,000 $20.7
3. Big Hero 6 $7,742,000 $156.1
4. Interstellar $6,600,000 $137.9
5. Horrible Bosses 2 $6,200,000 $13.5

Christoph Waltz Talks HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, How He Prepares for a Role, Working with Tim Burton on BIG EYES, David Yates’ TARZAN, and More

Sean Anders’ Horrible Bosses 2 is now in theaters
with Jason Bateman, Charlie Day , and Jason
Sudeikis reprising their roles from the first film.
This time around they decide to be their own
bosses by setting out on their own
entrepreneurial venture. When a slick investor
( Christoph Waltz) steals their idea, they decide to
kidnap his son ( Chris Pine) and hold him for
ransom. Jennifer Aniston , Kevin Spacey, and
Jamie Foxx all return for the sequel. While
Horrible Bosses 2 isn’t going to win any awards,
I’ll admit that I laughed a lot mostly from the
great chemistry between Bateman, Day and
Sudeikis. For more on the film, watch some
clips, read Matt’s review, watch the trailer, or
here’s all our previous coverage.
At the Los Angeles press day I landed an
exclusive interview with Christoph Waltz. He
talked about how he got involved in the project,
how he prepares for a role and if he does
anything different for a comedy, if his process
has changed over his career, what it was like
working with Tim Burton on Big Eyes,
collaborating with director David Yates on
Tarzan , and a lot more. Hit the jump to either
read or watch what he had to say.
Here’s the video of the interview followed by a
full transcript.
Collider: For this project, when they pitched you
on it, was it an immediate, “Oh my god, I’m doing
this?”
CHRISTOPH WALTZ: It was an immediate, “Oh
my god, I can’t do that.” I always take the script
seriously. Not that I shouldn’t have but what I
overlooked was that it is in a certain context.
Oh, so you read the script and you were like, “I’m
not doing this.”
WALTZ: But then meeting the people involved,
and I’m not just talking about the three guys—
some of them I’ve known before. But the
director and the producers really did put it in a
different context and it started making sense. I
started seeing layers and details and elements in
it that really, really made me quite enthusiastic
about participating. Not least of them that topic.
For you preparing for a role and you’re doing
something like this which is, you’re not playing it
funny the way the other guys are. Do you
prepare any differently when you’re going to be in
a comedy or is acting for you the same rigid
process?
WALTZ: It’s not a rigid process, somewhere it is
the same because microsurgery will be
microsurgery and car mechanics will be car
mechanics. To confuse the two could have fatal
results but every part and every story requires its
own unique attention. So, that’s what you try to
find out in the run up, so to say, which is the
right flight path? Which is the right approach?
Which is the most useful?
And in this case, the most useful I think—and it
seems to have been the right one—was to take it
like any other serious part. Because that’s my
part, only in the context hopefully it’s funny but
the context is not really what I do. I’m just
responsible for the part, so I considered myself
responsible for the seriousness, for the straight
thing. Apart from the part that it is a
mechanical necessity for comedy that you have
the serious and straight guy.
One of the things that I found, especially looking
at the bloopers of the movie is that the three of
them, I would imagine there are a lot of takes
that are ruined from people laughing. Or did you
not find that to be the case?
WALTZ: I actually didn’t find that to be the
case. Yeah, they are funny but again, as a
result. Sometimes it happens but it happens
surprisingly rarely that you crack up because they
came up with something new. If you really focus
on what you’re doing then you could see them
being funny and acknowledge the fact that they
are funny without reacting to it or cracking up.
And then, they were at work too, so you
understand that they are actually trying to find
the best expression for the situation and you
participate in that. That in itself is not a
laughable situation.
I’m curious how you’ve changed as an actor in
the way you do prepare for a role from when you
first started to where you are now. Have you
maintained a very similar routine or has it been
adapted as you’ve gotten further into being an
actor?
WALTZ: Well, of course. You develop and if you
don’t you should do something else, as simple
as that.
Is it now you feel more comfortable taking on a
role where you do maybe less work or do you do
even more work now?
WALTZ: No, I do more because I know more of
how wrong things can go. Not only how things
can go wrong but how wrong they can go. So, as
you go along you learn more and more about it
and you find yourself in a position more and
more often where you think, “I have no idea. I
have no clue. What am I gonna do?” Now,
experience is crucial because now you can open
your tool box. But you have to have used the
preceding decade to fill your toolbox, so that
might be the only difference.
I’m looking forward to Tim Burton’s Big Eyes
because it’s not a typical Tim Burton movie of
recent years where it’s fantasy filled with CGI and
effects. It’s a real story. What was it like being a
part of that, making the movie? What was it like
collaborating with him?
WALTZ: You see, I consider this a typical Tim
Burton movie because how can it not be if it’s
Tim Burton?
I don’t mean it like–
WALTZ: I know exactly, I just…I know exactly
what you mean and I’m grateful for throwing me
that ball, so I answered back. It is very much a
typical Tim Burton movie because it might not
have the branding so much. It might not have
the Tim Burton, whatever it is. I don’t even think
about it because I love working with him for
these reasons. Everything he does is typically
Tim Burton.
He doesn’t submit to commercial considerations
ahead of creative ones. He is the true artist and
the way he expresses himself, you have to live up
to the occasion the way he demands to fulfill
that expectation, or that hope rather, that he
puts in you by casting you. Apart from the
challenge, it’s wonderful to see him exercise his
marvels.
Have you seen a rough cut yet or the film?
WALTZ: No, I haven’t.
So you’re seeing it for the first time soon?
WALTZ: I certainly hope so.
I know you’re making Tarzan right now.
WALTZ: It’s done.
You worked with David Yates. What was it like
collaborating with him on this version?
WALTZ: He is probably the most circumspectant,
considerate person on Earth.
I’ve noticed that.
WALTZ: You have? How so?
I did a set visit on Harry Potter and I’ve spoken to
him a few times. He’s just so nice and grounded.
WALTZ: It’s not just nice, it’s beyond nice. He
really considers the other person’s position and
point of view. And by position I don’t mean in
the hierarchy, I mean as a human being in
society. He really is, as I said, so circumspect
that sometimes I had problems picking up right
away what he meant, “Oh. Now I get it, now I
get it. He doesn’t want to just order me around.”
He offers various perspectives and approaches,
and considerations to consider for yourself and
then choose amongst them yourself. After, I
understood because I’m just an actor. I’m used
to being ordered around. After understanding
that he refuses to do that and it’s a conscious
choice, it’s not because he’s a weakling. He’s
everything but. It’s his conscious choice to
never infringe upon your process.
Can you tell people who you play in the film?
WALTZ: No. Go see the movie.

One year anniversary of FROZEN

Yes! Its being a year since the release of the release of the future classic Frozen. Which in my opinion is not just one of the greatest animations of all time but also one of the greatest movie of all time as well.
It grossed over 1 billion dollars at the box office and its album has been certified 3x platinum ( let it go anyone!). Plus an academy award and a golden globe for best original song. I think its fair to say this movie will define a generation and make us question who had a better childhood:
Lion king Vs Frozen
Cinderella Vs Tangled
Beauty and the beast Vs Finding memo

And it goes on and on....
Won't run any verdict over any but having experienced both eras, let me just say let the show go on.

Check out this New THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES Images

Warner Bros. has released three new The Hobbit:
The Battle of the Five Armies images online. The
film concludes the Hobbit saga as five armies
descend upon the Lonely Mountain in order to
claim its now unguarded treasure, and it also
acts as as prelude to Jackson’s other J.R.R.
Tolkein trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. Because
The Desolation of Smaug ended in an action
cliffhanger (as opposed to the previous movies,
which ended in walking cliffhangers), I assume
TBOTFA will begin with Smaug raining down fire
on Lake-town. The movie is supposed to end
with a 45-minute battle sequence, and I guess
that’s the only way to go when your first set
piece is a dragon destroying an entire town.
The film stars Ian
McKellen, Martin Freeman , Richard
Armitage , Evangeline Lilly , Lee Pace, Luke
Evans , Benedict Cumberbatch , Stephen Fry, Cate
Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee , Hugo
Weaving, Ken Stott , James Nesbitt, and Orlando
Bloom . The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five
Armies opens on December 17th.

THE PEANUTS MOVIE Voice Cast Revealed

Fittingly, 20th Century Fox chose today to reveal
The Peanuts Movie voice cast. The CG-animated
feature comes from producer Paul Feig
( Bridesmaids ), director Steve Martino ( Horton
Hears a Who! ), and writer Craig Schulz , the son
of Peanuts creator Charles Schulz . The footage
we’ve seen thus far has been surprisingly
promising, with the CG animation being done in a
stylistic fashion. But when it comes to the voice
cast, you won’t find any big movie stars here
(though it’d be kind of great if someone like Will
Ferrell or Tina Fey provided the “wah wa-wah”’s
of the adults). The voice cast for the Peanuts
Movie is mostly made up of young actors with
experience in voiceover work, commercials, and
kid-centric programming on The Disney Channel
and Nickelodeon. Noah Schnapp , who just
wrapped a role in Steven Spielberg ’s untitled Cold
War thriller, takes the lead role of Charlie Brown,
while Sofia the First voice actress Hadley Belle
Miller plays Lucy.
which provides a bit more
information on their roles. Yes, all your favorites
from the beloved comic strip appear. The
Peanuts Movie opens in 3D on November 6, 2015.

Minions!!!

While we’re all enjoying Thanksgiving, the Minions

Bells.”
Hit the jump to check out the video for yourself.
The Minions will be back on the big screen in
their very own Despicable Me spin-off on July 10,

James Cameron planning two AVATAR sequels to be shot simultaneously

James Cameron is hard at work developing his
Avatar sequels, and the only way they can be
described is by bringing back long-dead slang
terms. With a December 2016 release date
officially set for Avatar 2, Cameron is currently
getting ready to begin production on the three
sequels back-to-back-to-back, and when asked by
Empire about the storylines, Cameron, laughing,
said he could reveal one thing: “They’re gonna be
bitchin.’ You will shit yourself with your mouth
wide open.” Dear Fox, please print this on the
poster. Your marketing job will be half over!
The filmmaker certainly took his time in crafting
the follow-ups to the highest grossing film of all
time, and when it came to writing the
screenplays he broke the stories with a team of
writers and then assigned each of them one
specific film. In the recent edition of Empire,
Cameron elaborates a bit on this writing process
and reveals that the films will be shot in 48 FPS
instead of 60. Moreover, the director lets slip
that one of the most quoted lines from Avatar
actually came from Peter Jackson.

New BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Trailer Breaks out the Batmobile

It’s been too long since we saw a new Batman:
Arkham Knight trailer, but Warner Bros.
Interactive Entertainment has now given us a
fresh look at the upcoming video game, which
takes place one year after the events of Batman:
Arkham City and finds the titular superhero
squaring off against Scarecrow, who has united
Batman’s enemies in a plot to finally kill The
Bat. To make matters more complicated, the
mysterious “Arkham Knight” is in the mix.
In this trailer, we get a good look at some of the
gameplay. Specifically, we see how developer
Rocksteady has attempted to seamlessly
integrate the Batmobile into the combat by
having Batman leap out of the vehicle to fight his
enemies. If you’re asking why Batman doesn’t
just run everyone over, remember that Batman
doesn’t kill people. Hitting a person with a fast-
moving assault vehicle tends to result in vehicular
homicide. But the gameplay does look cool,
although I’m always wary of vehicles in video
games because so many have awful controls.
Hit the jump to check out the new Batman:
Arkham Knight trailer. The game hits PlayStation
4 and Xbox One on June 2, 2015.
Via Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Here’s the official synopsis for Batman: Arkham
Knight :
In the explosive finale to the Arkham series,
Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city
he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to
unite an impressive roster of super villains,
including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to
destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham
Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed
version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the
first time in the franchise. The addition of this
legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed
gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers
gamers the ultimate and complete Batman
experience as they tear through the streets and
soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham
City.

Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, and Jennifer Aniston Talk HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, Building Chemistry, Ad-Libbing, and More

If you thought the first film was crazy, Horrible
Bosses 2 is wilder and crazier, upping the ante on
every level. After what happened with the bosses
from hell, the first time around, Nick ( Jason
Bateman), Dale ( Charlie Day ) and Kurt ( Jason
Sudeikis ) have decided to become their own
bosses by launching their own business. But
when they’re outplayed by an investor ( Christoph
Waltz), the three best friends hatch another
misguided plan, this time to kidnap the investor’s
adult son ( Chris Pine) and ransom him to get
their company back.
During a conference at the film’s press day, co-
stars Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason
Sudeikis were joined by Jennifer Aniston (who
plays Dr. Julia Harris, the hot dentist with an
overactive libido that she’s trying to get a handle
on) to talk about building their chemistry, how
much ad-libbing there was, saying such raunchy
dialogue, upping the ante, getting Christoph Waltz
to laugh, adding Chris Pine to the mix, making
sure they got this film right, after the success of
the first one, and whether they’d consider a third
movie. Check out what they had to say after the
jump.
Question: Jennifer, how does it feel to be in a
sequel?
JENNIFER ANISTON: It feels wonderful to be in
a sequel, especially a really good one. Right? I’m
very happy to be in this sequel.
It’s been a few years since you did the first film.
Did any of you go back and watch the film again,
to pick it back up?
ANISTON: I actually did, yeah.
SUDEIKIS: In pre-production, when we were
going through the script and rehearsals with Sean
[Anders] and John [Morris], we watched it in my
trailer, that day. One element of sequelitis is how
things came to be. And when you actually sit
there and watch the movie that we’re basing the
second one on, you’re like, “Oh, that’s right.
Okay.” It was really funny. I know for me, it got
me fired up to do it again.
Jason, Charlie and Jason, how did you build your
chemistry, initially?
JASON SUDEIKIS: Well, you have to work on
something to make it pretty great.
CHARLIE DAY: Sudeikis and I had worked
together before the first film.
JASON BATEMAN: The first time we worked
together was at the table reading of the first film.
Jennifer, doing the scene where you were at the
addiction meeting, did you ad-lib any or all of
that, or was it all scripted?
ANISTON: The structure of it was there, and
then we would throw in little things, as we were
doing the volley back and forth, of what my
demands were for the description of what it was
that he was admitting in the group. That took on
different little variations, from take to take. When
we saw this cut, it was a fun surprise to see,
“Oh, they chose that line.” There were endless
lines.
Jennifer, how do you get into the mind-set to do
this type of language?
ANISTON: I find it extremely entertaining, the
way she speaks, because I don’t really think that
she thinks that she’s saying anything
inappropriate. For her, it’s like describing the
ingredients to a wonderful soufflé, or “What are
we going to be doing this weekend?”
SUDEIKIS: The scene where you’re watching the
security footage with those two gals, and just
how candid you are and the looks on their faces,
is so funny.
ANISTON: That was one of the most
uncomfortable days, I have to say. We were just
talking about it like it was the funniest TV show
you’ve ever seen.
BATEMAN: That’s not as uncomfortable as I
was when I saw what ended up happening to my
character. Those were all body doubles. The
first screening I saw was the first time that I saw
my character ended up getting sodomized.
ANISTON: Charlie and I also had a wonderful
surveillance camera moment that ended up not
being in the movie. I had to do it on top of him
in a coma, and he broke, half-way through the
take, when I grabbed him.
Jennifer, was it fun to return to this character?
And knowing that you were doing the sequel,
what did you do to up the ante and take her one
step further, this time around?
ANISTON: Honestly, I think the writers called
just to say, “How far can we go with Dr. Julia?”
And I basically said, “Go as far as you can go, as
long as it’s in the realm of not insulting or
offending too many people.” I think it rose to the
occasion. The dialogue was great, and the sex
group lent itself to great humor and situations. I
was just psyched.
Were there any particular scenes that you guys
thought were way, way beyond, and you had
trouble getting through?
SUDEIKIS: No.
BATEMAN: These guys are so stupid that really
everything’s on the table. They have just enough
intelligence to create a justification, in their own
minds, for doing it, but all the lack of intelligence
to actually execute it.
Did you all get Christoph Waltz to laugh?
BATEMAN: Yes.
SUDEIKIS: Yes, we did.
DAY: It was a maniacal laugh.
Jason, Charlie and Jason, what was it like to add
Chris Pine into your already established
chemistry?
DAY: I think there was a concern about bringing
anyone into it since we had a chemistry that we
knew we could rely on. You hope that you didn’t
get someone who was either unfunny, or trying to
be funny too much. But I always thought Chris
was extremely funny as Captain Kirk, in [the Star
Trek ] movies. He delivers the action, but he also
has great comedic timing, so I really wasn’t
worried about it. And then, he’s such a great
actor. Like working with Christoph or Jen, or any
character that comes into the scene, if they’re a
great actor, they only make the scene better.
SUDEIKIS: He came from the dramatic point of
view, like what you would feel if your dad did
this? He wasn’t trying to hit the joke. He was
just trying to hit the reality of it because the
funny is already in there, or we hope it is, by us
doing our thing and reacting to him and being in
over our heads. He didn’t try to do what we did.
He did his own thing, which was both charming
to the characters and also really effective, as far
as the scenes were concerned.
BATEMAN: You just hope he’s a good guy
because having a nice vibe on the set, when it’s a
comedy, is so important. You hope there aren’t
any dickheads, and he’s a really good guy.
DAY: And because he’s a peer, when we were
able to really make him break, it was satisfying
because you know that’s our target audience, in a
sense. He was our comedy barometer.
The shower product that your characters market
in the film has all of the makings for what we
see with those “As Seen on TV” infomercial
products. Do you guys ever watch any of those
infomercials, and have any of them cracked you
up, the way that the audience will laugh at you
guys?
SUDEIKIS: Yeah, I used to watch them all the
time.
BATEMAN: We just don’t stay up that late
anymore.
SUDEIKIS: I love them. I was susceptible to
them.
BATEMAN: There are all the coins that I bought.
SUDEIKIS: And the commemorative plates. My
favorite thing to do now is to watch Home
Shopping Network or QVC, late at night, when
they’re trying to sell you a pair of earrings. They
have the little timer on there, and you have to
hear a dude riff about it for seven minutes. It’s
fun to watch at 3 am because that’s not their A-
team. You really get to see a guy struggling.
“It’s onyx, and women love onyx.” You have no
idea what he’s talking about.
What was it like to share scenes with Jamie
Foxx, in this role?
SUDEIKIS: That’s In Living Color . That’s one of
the funniest dudes around. But he’s so good at
everything else, and we had forgotten that.
DAY: I was a fan of Jamie through comedy, first.
Then, obviously, his dramatic work is great. But
on the first movie, he was in and out. It was fun
for us, but we were like, “Man, that guy was
cool,” and he came and went. The second movie,
he was around for a lot more of it. I, personally,
just had a great experience working with him. I
liked him as much, as a performer, as I do as a
human being. He’s so cool. He’s very cool.
BATEMAN: He’s the greatest guy in the world.
SUDEIKIS: But we cannot forget Kevin Spacey.
He’s great.
DAY: It’s great working with Kevin and Christoph,
or any of these actors who can actually just say
the lines and make it interesting.
SUDEIKIS: There are no two people better to
dress you down than Christoph and Kevin.
DAY: That is true.
Sequels are notoriously tough to do really well,
especially when the first film is so good. Was it
important to you to spend as much time as you
need, to get this film right?
BATEMAN: Sean Anders and John Morris
deserve all the credit in the world for delivering
this film. However, they were very inclusive in
the whole process of developing this script and
making it what it is. We knew that that was a
privilege, so we took full advantage of that
opportunity. We spent a lot of time working on
the script and making sure that this was
something that was at least as good as the first
one, and hopefully better, because we were proud
of the first one. We sat on the phone for a long
time and talked about whether we should do it.
And I’m glad that we did because, for my money,
this is a lot better than the first one, and I loved
the first one.
ANISTON: I agree.
If there is a third one, what would you want your
characters to do? Where could you see them
going next?
DAY: For this second movie, we really thought
long and hard about how to do it. It was a very
inclusive process where we had a lot of
conversations about it, and we didn’t just go out
on a limb and say, “All right, now we’re in
Acapulco.” We put some serious thought into it.
So, if we are going to even consider doing a third
one, we’d have to do the same process. There
are so many bad sequels made. We just really
didn’t want to be a part of that, and I sincerely
believe that we didn’t do that. So hopefully, if
we’re going to do a third one, it will be a movie
worth watching.
Jason and Jason, how many “kill-marry-fuck”
scenarios did you come up with, and were there
any particular favorites or thought-provoking
ones?
SUDEIKIS: That just really came out of two guys,
sitting in a car and wasting time while their buddy
went inside to go buy walkie talkies and rubber
gloves. We did that probably seven times. The
one that tickles me the most is probably using
our friends from The Hangover . It’s a little meta.
Jennifer, you also have Cake coming out, which
is getting such great critical reaction. Do you
enjoy doing both comedy and drama?
ANISTON: I love doing both. One accesses one
part of my brain, and the other accesses
another. But any time I approach any character,
comedy or drama, it’s grounded in reality and
coming from the truth. There’s comedy in
drama. There’s drama in comedy. I don’t find
the two exclusive of one another.
Horrible Bosses opens in theaters on November
26th.

New TERMINATOR: GENISYS Image Featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800

Those first few images from Terminator: Genisys
didn’t go over too well, but a new one just
surfaced. There isn’t much to it and it also isn’t
an official Paramount Pictures release (yet), but
it is far more promising than those ridiculous
looking EW character shots of Emilia Clarke , Jai
Courtney, Jason Clarke and Matt Smith .
Hit the jump to check out the latest
Terminator: Genisys image featuring Arnold
Schwarzenegger as the T-800. The film opens on
July 1, 2015 and also stars J.K. Simmons , Dayo
Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee .
According to TheArnoldFans.com some German
bloggers who were touring Paramount Studios
spotted this promo poster in “a darker corner.”
Clearly there isn’t much to it and it doesn’t even
say Terminator: Genisys anywhere, but if this
really is the T-800 we’re getting in the movie ,
I’m all for it.
Even if you manage to look past the fact that the
whole yelling theme of the EW character images
is downright ridiculous, the tone and color palette
of those shots are still a major problem because
they suggest the filmmakers might be focusing
too much on putting a fresh spin on the material
rather than honoring what made the series so
iconic. Of course this is all just promotional
artwork and we won’t really know what’s coming
until the studio unveils the first trailer, but the
darker, grittier feel to this Arnie poster does spark
more hope after the first look campaign failed to
impress.

Robin Lord's portrayal of The Penguin gets good reviews from fans and critics

One of the biggest break-out performances of the
current Fall TV season is that of Robin Lord
Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, on
the Fox drama series Gotham. He’s made the
most of every moment that he’s been given, and
he’s turned the character into someone
unpredictable, dangerous, funny, sad and
sympathetic.
During this exclusive phone interview with
Collider, actor Robin Lord Taylor talked about how
this entire experience is so big that it’s hard to
wrap his brain around it, finding the perfect
balance of evil genius and batshit crazy, how
long all of The Penguin’s manipulations can
continue before it all blows up in his face, where
things are at between The Penguin and Fish
Mooney ( Jada Pinkett Smith ), having the
amazing Carol Kane play his mother, and how
Oswald Cobblepot is embracing the slur and fully
becoming The Penguin.

Christoph Waltz May Be Playing Blofeld in BOND 24

2012’s Skyfall was almost certainly one of the
best entries in the James Bond franchise to date, but it looks like returning
director Sam Mendes may be upping the ante in
the follow-up. Skyfall was a successful attempt
at melding the legacy of the Bond franchise with
its most recent Daniel Craig-fronted iteration, as
the story simultaneously addressed how a person
like James Bond fits into the modern landscape
while also referencing some of the series’ most
notable hallmarks. With the ending of Skyfall
acting as a mild reset to the goings-on at MI 6, a
new rumor now claims that Mendes might be
resurrecting one of the most famous Bond villains
of all with actor Christoph Waltz’s role in the
upcoming Bond 24: Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Oscar Isaac to Play Villain Apocalypse in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

20th Century Fox has found its villain for the
upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past follow-up
X-Men: Apocalypse , and the studio has nabbed
one of the best actors working today to bring the
character to life. Variety reports that Inside
Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac has signed on to
play the titular antagonist, a very old mutant who
was considered a god during the time of ancient
Egypt. The crux of Apocalypse takes place in the
1980s and the film has been described as a
“disaster movie”, so the powerful villain
presumably acts as a formidable force for the X-
Men team.

Check out this awesome fan reactions to #tvd S06E7

The last episode of #tvd is filled with lots of heart touching moments: Damon and Elena kissing in the rain or Stefan's customary dullness (just kiss her already). Anyway the fans of #tvd certainly have a lot to say about the episode. Check some of them out in this link

The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 8

We don’t about you, but we’re complete suckers
for TV holiday specials. Everything is amplified.
The celebrations! The fashion! The drama!
Honestly, there’s nothing like seeing your favorite
characters come together to drink, eat and be
merry, Thus, when we found out The Vampire
Diaries episode 6×08 was Thanksgiving themed
we grew mega excited. So what can viewers from
“Fade Into You?” We can tease two things: a
promising plan goes horribly awry and some nice
folks sit down to a fancy meal.
That being said, scroll on down to preview new
footage from TVD Season 6 Episode 8!
In case you haven’t heard the awesome news,
Caroline and Elena are hosting “Friendsgiving”
dinner at their Whitmore dorm. So sweet, right?
Not quite, especially considering how they left an
important person off their guest list: Stefan
Salvatore! The poor guy has had to put up with a
lot of crap this year — what, with his Enzo killing
his girlfriend and his so-called pals not letting
him grieve his brother’s supposed death in peace.
But not letting him help himself to some turkey
stuffing and homemade pie? That’s just
downright rude.
Unlike us though, Alaric and Damon find the
entire situation rather amusing. During a road trip
to Portland to seek out the Gemini Coven and
track down an ascendant, they taunt Stefan
about Caroline’s huge crush on him. “Why don’t
you just date her and put us all out of our
misery?” asks Damon. “Because I don’t think of
her that way. She’s my friend,” Stefan snaps.
Watch as Alaric and Damon run through a list of
reasons as to why Caroline Forbes is excellent
girlfriend material!
Though we’re frustrated with Caroline for
excluding Stefan from the festivities just so she
can avoid an awkward run-in with him, we do
have plenty of other storylines to look forward to.
For example? First, Elena discovers that Bonnie
still alive, and her insanely happy reaction will
melt your heart. Second, seeing Damon take such
good care of Bonnie’s most prize possession, Ms.
Cuddles, is cuteness overload. And third? This
week’s ep is all about mythology — Kai’s and
Jo’s to be exact! We’ll be made privy to some
interesting details about their witchy family, and
finally learn the truth about Kai’s terrible past as
well as his morbid intentions. (Fact: The opening
sequence is straight-up scary, so make sure you
leave the lights on for the first few minutes.)
Hit the ‘play’ button below to hear what other
spoilers executive producers Julie Plec and
Caroline Dries revealed about this week’s ep!

Exclusive: Chris Pratt to Star in COWBOY NINJA VIKING

Chris Pratt quickly went from talented comedic
actor to franchise star with this summer’s
Guardians of the Galaxy , and now he’s poised to
lead another studio tentpole film. Sources tell us
that Pratt is now attached to topline Universal’s
adaptation of the graphic novel Cowboy Ninja
Viking , which was created by writer A.J.
Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. It sounds
like the kind of title that would pique the interest
of Pratt’s Parks and Recreation alter ego Andy
Dwyer, and indeed it’s a rather heightened genre
project. The story revolves around an assassin
with Multiple Personality Disorder who possess
the skills of a cowboy, a ninja, and a Viking, and
works for a secret government progam.

A new Cinderella movie in the works?

Disney has released a new Cinderella trailer and
poster along with new images for director
Kenneth Branagh’s live-action iteration of the
classic story. The movie is the traditional rags-
to-riches story we know with a few twists like
Cinderella ( Lily James) meeting the prince
( Richard Madden ) before knowing he’s a prince,
and the fairy godmother ( Helena Bonham Carter )
appearing in the guise of an old, beggar woman.
But the nefarious evil stepmother ( Cate
Blanchett) and wicked stepsisters ( Sophie
McShera and Holliday Granger) are still in place.
It looks like Branagh has stayed incredibly faithful
to the 1950 Disney animated film, and this trailer
is basically a condensed, live-action version of
that entire movie. I guess if you’re more into
flesh-and-blood actors combined with lots of CG,
then this will be the Cinderella for you.
The film also stars Nonso
Anozie , Derek Jacobi , and Stellan Skarsgard, and
opens in theaters on March 13, 2015.

Shia Labeouf and Blake Lively stars in a new Romantic Drama

The first The Age of Adaline trailer has landed
online for director Lee Toland Krieger’s ( Celeste &
Jesse Forever ) fantasy romantic drama. The film
stars Blake Lively as a woman who suffers a
near-fatal accident in the 1930s that renders her
immortal. She embarks on an epic, isolated
journey, keeping her secret, but must watch her
own daughter grow old ( Ellen Burstyn ) as she is
forced to continually strike up relationships and
then quickly cut ties. The central concept of the
story has been seen before, but this actually
looks like a really visually arresting film. The
colors seem to pop, and I’m especially curious to
see a film in which the immortal character
maintains a relationship with her family.
The film also stars Harrison Ford and
Michiel Huisman. The Age of Adaline opens in
theaters on April 24, 2015.

THE COLOR OF TIME Trailer and Poster: James Franco, Jessica Chastain, Mila Kunis, and More Go through the Life of Poet C.K. Williams

Starz Digital Media has released The Color of
Time trailer and poster. The synopsis explain, it’s really more of a
biopic. The plot has Williams ( James Franco )
preparing for a reading in New York City , but
he’s haunted by memories from his past. The
Color of Time has the hook of being handled by
12 directors, and the cast also includes Mila
Kunis, Jessica Chastain, Zach Braff , Henry
Hopper, and Bruce Campbell . However, looking
at this trailer, it seems like the ensemble of
directors really wanted to make The Tree of Life
minus dinosaurs. The film will be available for
early digital download on December 2nd, On
Demand and on iTunes on December 9th, and in
theaters on December 12th.

TV Ratings: MARRY ME and AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D Rise; THE FLASH Ticks Down TV ratings for Tuesday, November 18th are in

Here’s a brief rundown:
NBC’s swell new comedy Marry Me (from the
creator of Happy Endings ) saw a rise of three
tenths for last night’s Thanksgiving-themed
episode, earning a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demo
and scoring 5.32 million viewers. About a Boy
was also up, rising four tenths to a 1.3 rating and
garnering 4.3 million viewers, while Chicago Fire
was down two tenths to a 2.0 rating and 7.70
million viewers.
Over on The CW, The Flash  was down a tenth to a 1.3 rating and
scored 3.58 million viewers, while Supernatural
rose a tenth to a 1.0 rating and scored 2.63
million viewers.
ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  was up a tenth from
last week’s series low to a 1.6 rating and 4.54
million viewers, while Forever matched last
week’s 1.0 rating and scored 4.41 million viewers.
Fox’s New Girl ticked up a tenth to a 1.4 rating
and scored 2.8 million viewers, and The Mindy
Project matched last week’s 1.1 rating and
garnered 2.37 million viewers.
CBS’ NCIS was up three tenths to a 2.6 rating
and scored 17.89 million viewers, NCIS: New
Orleans rose three tenths to a 2.3 rating and
garnered 16.68 million viewers, and Person of
Interest also rose three tenths to a 1.6 rating and
scored 9.68 million viewers.

Check out as the stars of Pitch Perfect 2 take the cover of EW Mag!

Get your aca-puns ready, folks, because it’s time
to start getting really excited for Pitch Perfect 2.
A first look at the sequel has been unveiled as
part of this week’s EW cover, which features
returning stars Anna Kendrick , Rebel Wilson , and
Brittany Snow. Pitch Perfect actress/executive
producer Elizabeth Banks steps into the director’s
chair this time around, taking over from the first
film’s Jason Moore and making her feature
directorial debut in the process. Plot details for
the follow-up are still unknown at this time, but
as a big fan of the first movie I’m really looking
forward to this sequel. Kay Cannon ( 30 Rock )
returned to pen the script so hopefully it’s able to
maintain sharp tone of the first feature while
expanding the scope, as sequels are wont to do.
I imagine we’ll be seeing a debut trailer very
soon. The film also stars Skylar Astin , Hailee
Steinfeld, Anna Camp, Katey Segal , Adam Devine ,
and of course Banks. Pitch Perfect 2 opens in
theaters on May 15, 2015.

Spoiler Alert! The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 8

According to
the new promo for The Vampire Diaries Season 6
Episode 8, while Bonnie’s best pals come
together on Thanksgiving Day to laugh, drink, and
be merry, the poor Bennett witch is stuck
celebrating the holiday with psychotic Kai in their
1994 hellhole. (Eating out of dirty jam jars, being
shot at with arrows, and having to deal with his
lies, rage, and pork rind breath? No thanks!) With
that said, at least our sadness and anxiety will be
slightly mollified by other happenings in “Fade
Into You.”
First, Caroline and Elena are hosting a meal at
Whitmore College since they can’t return home to
Mystic Falls, and the place settings at their table
are impeccable. (Vampire Barbie sure loves her
gourd decor.) Second, though newcomers such
as Liv, Luke, Liam, and Jo are invited to this
grand feast, poor Stefan is not. On the one hand
we want to cry because it’s kind of hurtful to
exclude him from the festivities. On the other,
Damon’s reaction to finding out Stefan was
banned from Care Bear’s “Friendsgiving” dinner is
hilarious. Third, the Salvatores won’t be attending
the fancy meal so it doesn’t matter whether they
received an invitation or not; they, along with
Alaric, are heading to Portland to learn more
about the mysterious Gemini coven.
And fifth? As the bro-busters deal with a
supernatural encounter of their own, things get
heated back at the Thanksgiving celebration. The
preview trailer shows Elena telling Liam the truth
about who she is — a sexy-ass vampire to be
precise — and then it flashes to Damon telling her
that Bonnie is alive. The footage also shows
Delena hitting up a local bar where they grab
drinks, chat, and do some casual hand holding.
And that’s not all, folks! We also see Jo doubling
over in sheer agony and clutching her head, and
knowing full well that Kai is her murderous
brother, this scene has us mega worried.

Latest casting news on Marvel's Phase 3

Captain America: Civil War – Directed by The
Winter Soldier helmers Joe and Anthony Russo .
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans co-star in the
film, which presumably delves into the comics
storyline of Civil War, setting Iron Man and
Captain America as enemies. The film will also
serve as the introduction for Chadwick
Boseman’s Black Panther, and Daniel Brul was
recently cast a one of the film’s villains.
Doctor Strange – Directed by Scott Derrickson
( Sinister), Benedict Cumberbatch is now in
negotiations to take on the lead role of a
narcissistic former neurosurgeon with mystical
powers. Bruh’s Civil War villain may also be
serving as the main villain in this film.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – Written and directed
by the first film’s helmer James Gunn , the main
ensemble cast is expected to return. Not much
else is known at this time, but be sure to check
out Steve’s new interview with Gunn to see what
the director will say about the sequel.
Thor: Ragnarok – No director has been
announced just yet, but Chris Hemsworth and
Tom Hiddleston are set to star. The subtitle
refers to a world-ending event in relation to
Asgard.
Black Panther – No director, but the picture will
serve as Chadwick Boseman’s own feature after
his introduction in Civil War.
Avengers: Infinity War Part I – This film will kick
off the galactic Infinity War saga, which involves
Thanos ( Josh Brolin) finally bringing the pain to
The Avengers. There are strong indications that
the Russo Brothers will be directing the two-part
Avengers 3, as Joss Whedon looks likely to step
down.
Captain Marvel – Marvel Studios’ first female-led
superhero picture. No director or cast just yet.
Avengers: Infinity War Part II – The concluding
installment to the next Avengers picture, which
will be filmed at the same time as Part I.
Inhumans – This film will take Marvel further into
the cosmic realm.

Marvel Releases Official Phase 3 Timeline Image

You may remember seeing glimpses of a full
timeline of films for Marvel’s upcoming Phase 3
slate during the studio’s big unveiling
presentation, but you’d be forgiven for forgetting
seeing as how Marvel Studios dumped a lot of
big news that day. Not to worry, because Marvel
has now officially revealed the Phase 3 timeline
image, which might come in handy when trying to
keep track of all the superhero movies we have
on tap. Ant-Man was originally supposed to kick
off the next phase, but that film has now been
moved under the Phase 2 banner as sort of a
post-script after Avengers: Age of Ultron. The
real Phase 3 festivities begin on May 6, 2016 with
the release of Captain America: Civil War, which
pits Robert Downey Jr. ’s Iron Man against Chris
Evans ’ Captain America, with Chadwick
Boseman’s Black Panther and Daniel Bruhl’s
unnamed villain also in the mix.

Introducing the new Pixar animated movie INSIDE OUT

Following a somewhat disappointing teaser trailer
for Inside Out that basically just reiterated Pixar’s
past accomplishments, the studio has now
released what will presumably be the first of five
character posters and videos for the movie. The
story focuses on a group of emotions— Fear ( Bill
Hader ), Sadness ( Phyllis Smith ), Joy ( Amy
Poehler), Disgust ( Mindy Kaling ) and Anger
( Lewis Black)—that guide the life of an 11-year-
old girl, Riley Anderson. The first Inside Out
character poster and video belongs to Sadness,
and each emotion will get the same treatment
daily throughout the week (tomorrow is Disgust). Inside Out opens
in 3D on June 19, 2015.

Jonathan Nolan to have another series?

Jonathan Nolan officially has another show on
the air. HBO announced today (via Twitter,
obviously) that is has ordered to series Nolan’s
adaptation of writer/director Michael Crichton ’s
1973 sci-fi film Westworld , which revolved around
a malfunctioning Wild West robot at a futuristic
adult amusement park. The official, cryptic
logline for this HBO series is as follows:
Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of
artificial consciousness and the future of sin.
Nolan, of course, is the brother of Christopher
Nolan and has co-written the screenplays for
films like The Dark Knight and Interstellar , but he
also acts as the creator/executive producer of
the CBS series Person of Interest and is
developing another potential HBO show in the
form of an adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi
series Foundation .

Fox Eyes Summer Start for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH Starring Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman is an amazing performer, and he
deserves a movie musical worthy of his talents. I am more excited an
opportunity may have arrived with The Greatest
Showman on Earth . it was last reported  in October 2013 when Bill Condon came on
to rewrite the script, which centers on legendary
showman and swindler P.T. Barnum (Jackman)
and his infatuation with opera singer Jenny Lind
a.k.a “The Swedish Nightingale.”
The film is now moving closer to shooting, and
there’s just one big oddity about the whole thing:
The Greatest Showman on Earth isn’t based on
anything. It’s not an adaptation of a stage
musical. It’s an original, and we haven’t gotten
an original live-action movie musical in a very
long time. That could be about to change.

Introducing Originals Season 2 Episode 7

What’s going down in The Originals Season 2
Episode 7? The answer should, of course, be
second nature to you at this point: Mikaelson
family drama galore! Honestly, who needs
enemies when your own flesh and blood are
gunning for your life. And this is a harsh reality
Klaus will face once again when his brothers,
Finn and Kol, and very own mother plot his
demise.
Kol, as part of his revenge plan, prefers using a
dagger to force his big bro into a long-yet-
temporary slumber. “I’ve wanted one thing for
years,” he tells Davina. “To drive a dagger right
through his heart.” Mama Mikaelson and Finn,
however, are Team Stake. Whether they plan on
using this on poor Niklaus remains to be seen.
That being said, we’re not remaining optimistic;
we know better.
Thankfully though, Klaus is tired of being hassled
by his own relatives and goes on the offense this
time around. He’s furious that Esther’s magic has
left Elijah comatose and he storms the woods,
seeking to exact vengeance by destroying
everything Esther holds dear. Even Hayley joins in
a round of ass-kicking. However, just as a great
deal of blood’s about to be shed, Klaus runs into
his biological father, and let’s just say tension is
in the air as the two of them talk out their issues!
Watch the official preview trailer for “Chasing The
Devil’s Tale” below! Then drop us a comment
telling us if you think Klaus will grow fond of his
birth father.
Mark your calendars, sweethearts: The Originals
Season 2 Episode 7 airs Monday, November 17 at
8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW!

No time to say no time

Box Office: DUMB AND DUMBER TO Takes Friday with $14.2 Million

Twenty years after Dumb and Dumber introduced
audiences to two guys named Harry and Lloyd –
and the most annoying sound in the world – the
long-awaited (?) sequel has finally hit theatres .
Dumb and Dumber To opened to an estimated
$14.2 million on Friday, which puts the comedy
on track for between $30 and $35 million through
Sunday. That’s in line with expectations for the
Universal release, though the weekend is still too
close to call in the comedy’s favor. Both Big
Hero 6 and Interstellar saw strong holds on
Friday, and the animated Disney pic is also
tracking in the $30 million range for its
sophomore frame.
Details and Friday’s top five after the jump.
The weekend’s only other major new release was
Beyond the Lights, which opened in 1,789
locations . The pop-star drama took in an
estimated $2.3 million and will struggle to hit the
$8 -$10 million that was projected. In terms of
the specialty market, this weekend will be
especially busy, including the expansion
of Birdman (857 locations) and the debuts of
Rosewater (357 locations) and Saving Christmas
- the latest Christian-themed feature from Kirk
Cameron (410 locations).
We’ll have complete details on the weekend’s
tomorrow.

Friday Total
1. Dumb and Dumber To $14,200,000
2. Interstellar $8,300,000
3. Big Hero 6 $8,011,000
4. Beyond the Lights $2,300,000
5. Gone Girl $1,350,000

Movie quote of the day: DRACULA UNTOLD

This is a year of great movies and amazing Blockbusters. If I have to make a list of my favorite films of this year; Dracula Untold would certainly be part of it.
I think it is one those movies the critics got wrong.Luke Evans portrayal of Vlad the impaler is spot on and the re imagining of the Dracula legend is what I particularly love. Anyway, here is your movie quote of the week from the film Dracula Untold

"....what kind of a man crawls into his own grave in search of hope...huh"
"...a desperate one..."

Shailene Woodley in Talks to Star in Oliver Stone’s Edward Snowden Film

Actress Shailene Woodley took her time in
choosing her follow-up project after this
summer’s one-two punch of Divergent and The
Fault in Our Stars , but despite the fact that she
