The first The Age of Adaline trailer has landed
online for director Lee Toland Krieger’s ( Celeste &
Jesse Forever ) fantasy romantic drama. The film
stars Blake Lively as a woman who suffers a
near-fatal accident in the 1930s that renders her
immortal. She embarks on an epic, isolated
journey, keeping her secret, but must watch her
own daughter grow old ( Ellen Burstyn ) as she is
forced to continually strike up relationships and
then quickly cut ties. The central concept of the
story has been seen before, but this actually
looks like a really visually arresting film. The
colors seem to pop, and I’m especially curious to
see a film in which the immortal character
maintains a relationship with her family.
The film also stars Harrison Ford and
Michiel Huisman. The Age of Adaline opens in
theaters on April 24, 2015.
